TC4985 Work Timeline

The purpose of this page is simply to list the various jobs that I do on TC4985, indicating when I did them. Although I try to mention the date that I do jobs when I document them, I sometimes forget, don't put an end date or leave out the year!

So let us start with the date that I bought TC4985 and then list the main jobs in chronological order.

September 2015	Replaced front engine mounts
November 2015 to January 2016	Replaced handbrake cables
May 2016	Swapped steering knuckles
June/July 2016	Replaced spindles on stub axles
July 2016 & May 2018	Fixed petrol leak from sender unit in tank
August 2016	Cleaned up base of rear panel and frame
August 2016	Got trip meter working
September 2016	Replaced rubber bushes on front spring shackles
October 2016	Replaced rubber bushes on rear springs
May 2017	Made and fitted electronic indicator flasher unit
July 2017	Cleaned out wiper motor and made new gaskets
July 2017	Replaced distributor bushes
August to November 2017	Replaced N/S rear hub and half shaft and fitted nuts with seals to both sides
September 2017	Replaced screws holding dashboard to frame
September 2017	Treated and painted underside of tunnel and prop shaft
September 2017	Inspected differential and replaced main gasket
October 2017	Re-lined rear brake shoes
October 2017	Fitted pedals draught excluder
May 2018	Waterproofed hood
June 2018	Replaced brake slave cylinder piston seals on N/S rear wheel
September to October 2018	Removed head, fitted new valve stem oil seals, cleaned and ground in valves.
October 2018	Replaced seals and missing parts on front carburettor
October/November 2018	Fitted steering box oil seal
February to April 2020	Replaced brake fluid and slave cylinder seals
April 2020	Painted rear number plate backplate
June/July 2020	Refurbished Altette horn
July 2020	Added bush to top driver's door hinge
October 2020	Replaced gaskets and seals in both carburettors
September 2021	Fitted new kingpins and stub axle bushes
Auguat 2022	Had 'helicoil' fitted in base of both carburettor bodies
January 2023	Refurbished fuel pump
